When I receive enquiries from people who have had near-death experiences (NDEs) or spiritually transformative experiences (STEs) about writing their book, it usually falls into one of two categories.
They are either 100% ready — sometimes even overdue on writing and sharing their story.
Or they are sitting in a space of uncertainty. They’re not sure. They don’t know if they’re ready. Imposter syndrome starts to creep in. They question whether their story is important enough, or whether anyone will care.
One of the questions I always ask them is:
Why now? Why do you want to share your story now?
The answers tend to reveal a lot.
Some say they have been sitting on their story for too long and feel that it is finally time to share it.
Others say they want to help people through their story — to offer comfort, understanding, or hope to those who may be searching for answers.
The intentions may be slightly different, but the underlying calling is often the same.
So how do you know if you are ready?
The first thing I want to say is this.
I know you see the state of the world around you. I know you feel it. And I know many experiencers feel a deep tugging at their heart — a desire to make a difference, to have a deliberate and intentional role in helping humanity heal, rise, overcome, and expand.
If that is how you feel, that is the first and most important sign that you may be ready to share your story.
Your story is not just for you.
It is for others — for those who will learn from your experience, find comfort in your words, or discover a new perspective through what you have lived.
Keeping it hidden may feel safer, but it may also mean withholding something that could deeply help someone else.
If you have a story to share, there is at least one person waiting to receive it.
You would not feel the urge to share your story if there were no one meant to hear it.
Sometimes the things that hold people back — the doubts, the fears, the excuses — are simply illusions.
Imposter syndrome is one of the most common ones.
It convinces you that your story isn’t important enough, profound enough, or different enough. But the truth is that every experience carries its own unique message.
And we are living in a time where these stories matter.
We are in an age of awakening. People are searching for deeper meaning, spiritual understanding, and reassurance about the nature of life, death, and consciousness.
If you have experienced something that can help humanity heal, grow, or expand its understanding, then sharing it becomes something more than a personal project.
It becomes a contribution. In many ways, it becomes a responsibility.
Why else would you have come at this time with this experience?
Another simple and obvious way to recognize readiness is this:
Are you actively looking into sharing your story?
Are you researching how to write a book, where to publish, what the process looks like, or how other experiencers have shared their journeys?
Often the search itself is a sign that something within you is already moving in that direction.
You can look for signs and synchronicities all day long. And sometimes they will appear.
But more often than not, you will know intuitively when the time is right. Trust your instincts. Trust your spiritual guidance. And trust the timing.
